Acoustic Technician III

Position Objective:
Perform various technical functions in support of the acoustic engineering department with building/ modifying electrical and mechanical hardware for development efforts. Building ceramic assemblies, wiring diagrams, create mechanical and acoustic test fixtures, test and characterize acoustic designs. Wire/ assemble prototype hardware. Primary or Major
Responsibilities:
Uses Sparton policies and procedures to complete work assignments. Support and assist engineers in the performance of technical assignments, routine engineering tasks, build and test or inspection of prototype systems, assemblies under the guidance of engineers. Build prototypes or coordinate with manufacturing and engineering personnel to support prototype or production tasks. Conduct complex in-house and remote engineering tests under the direction and guidance of an Engineer. May travel and participation in product field tests. May test or inspect electrical, mechanical or acoustic assemblies and document results. Participate in product failure analysis activities and/or root cause analysis of defects and/or field returns, corrective and preventive actions, compile failure analysis reports, and other related assignments. Collect, compile, and report data and information under engineer direction. May be responsible for purchasing engineering materials and controlling material inventory All other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements:
Associates degree / Electronics technician diploma, or comparable vocational-technical certificate, military technical training, or combination of education / experience, or minimum 5 years' experience in a related technical discipline. Ability to read and follow electronic schematics, generate PWB breadboards, make circuit card modifications. Experience working with electronic lab equipment including Power Supplies, Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Various analyzers, Signal Generators, Impedance Analyzers. Experience using lab equipment to test and characterize underwater hydrophones and/or active and passive transducers Ability to follow test procedures to run bench level and system level testing Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite applications. Experience with creating software to run automated testing is a plus.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Industrial EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
